NCLEX

The National Council Licensure Examinations, or NCLEX, are used to assess the knowledge and skills of nursing students. Students planning to become registered nurses must take the NCLEX-RN, while students planning to become practical nurses must take the NCLEX-PN. These tests were created by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, or NCSBN.

NCLEX candidates must first apply for licensure to the nursing board located in the state where the student wishes to practice. Next, candidates must register for the NCLEX. After they receive a confirmation of registration, students should receive their eligibility from the board to which they applied for licensure. Once eligibility is confirmed, the student will receive an authorization to test, which must be presented on the test date. At this point, the student may schedule a date and time for the NCLEX. Once the exam is completed, students will receive their scores within one month of their test date.

Test Trade offers a links to NCLEX flashcards and online practice quizzes. Students may also use the 20 practice questions provided on the site. The practice questions give students the opportunity to understand the type of questions they can expect to see on the exam.
