Biochemistry

Biochemistry is the study of the composition of living systems and organisms. Biochemists study both the chemical substances that occur in living organisms and the vital processes that allow the organism to function. As the word implies, biochemistry is the study of the chemical makeup of biological organisms. It is common for biochemists to analyze the chemical substances of a living organism to determine how they are synthesized by and used within the body. The substances most often studied in biochemistry include carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, minerals, vitamins, hormones, RNA and DNA.

Test Trade offers students the opportunity to assess their knowledge of biochemistry with four downloadable tests plus an additional page of study material. The practice tests use a multi-part question format along with short answers. Some of the main questions are followed by two to four related questions. Students must write the answers in the spaces provided. Each part of each question contains a notation as to how many points it is worth, and each of the practice tests begins with a chart of constants that will be useful in answering test questions. This format allows students to become familiar with the format and type of questions they will see on a regular biochemistry test.
